    Entry Requirements

    Evidence of previous creative work in any of the following: visual art drawing painting design textile design photography or music technology at an appropriate level - 3 GCSEs at Grade 1-3

    Assessment Method

    Continuous assessment: by practical work by project completion online portfolio submission presentations written research projects group work.

    Aims of the course

    The Level 1 Progression Diploma has been designed to introduce you to a wide range of creative study in art and design photography music technology and textiles. You will develop a broad range of technical skills and learn about the entire creative process from initial brief or idea to final outcome. The course also explores creative development skills and problem solving through experimenting with materials and research. At the same time you will complete functional skills qualifications in maths and English. The course will give you the all-round skills that you need in order to progress to the creative area of your choice.

    Progression Opportunities

    This qualification will prepare you to study on a level 2 Progression Diploma at Southwark College in fashion art & design creative media or music production and performance.

    Facilities

    The programme is delivered through a mixture of lessons workshops and projects. Learning will take place in classrooms studios off-site in trips to creative venues and in projects with external partners.

    Career Options

    The primary purpose of the diploma is to aid students to progress to further learning.
