This exciting programme has been developed to provide a flexible approach to support adult learners wanting to pursue further education within Health and Social Care and Personal Development. The qualification provides students with the opportunity to extend their learning in preparation for further vocational learning in further education settings.

    Entry Requirements

    GCSE English and maths at grade 3 or above Functional Skills English Level 1 or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification in a related subject plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English ability.

    Assessment Method

    Students are assessed through activities that are internally set by tutors. These include role play practical demonstration report writing group discussion essays and written question/answer exercises.

    Aims of the course

    The aims of the course are to help students who wish to progress in further education develop advance learning gain employability skills that employers seek within the sector and build their confidence and self-esteem.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to Adult Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care or enter employment.

    Learning will take place in classrooms.

    Careers can lead to working as a care assistant in the Health and Social Care sector.

Coronavirus update
