Entry Requirements
GCSE English grade 3 or above or Level 1 Functional Skills English or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification in a related subject. You will also be required to complete an initial English assessment that indicates you have the appropriate level of English ability for this course.
Assessment Method
As part of this course students will be assessed through activities that are internally set by tutors. These include role play practical demonstrations report writing group discussions essays and question/answer exercises.
Aims of the course
This course is designed to inspire and motivate students to consider a career in Health and Social Care and allow them to develop the skills and gain broad knowledge required to enter employment in the sector. As well as to help students progress in further or higher education develop advanced learning gain employability skills that employers seek within the industry and build their confidence and self-esteem.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to Level 3 Access to Health and Social Care on condition you have achieved Level 2 English and maths qualification or enter employment.
