The qualification provides basic level skills and knowledge that could lead to further education in IT or related areas as well as underpinning other educational sectors. It can offer those moving into their first job roles the confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine.

    Entry Requirements

    Successful completion of a substantial Level 1 qualification plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English and mathematical ability and a satisfactory reference.

    Assessment Method

    The IT Users Level 2 course incorporates various assessment methods including assessment tasks which are designed and set by the Centre internal assessment of learner work internal and external moderation of assessment. There are no additional external assessments for this Certificate. Learners are assessed through practical assignments such as case studies oral presentation practical tasks and demonstrations question and answer (written and oral) tests and exams with seen or unseen papers tutor observation worksheets written assignments written essays/reports.

    Aims of the course

    Designed for those with little or no experience in computing for the underpinning knowledge that could aid progress to further education or employment.

    Progression Opportunities

    On successful completion of the course this Certificate learner can progress on to Level 3 Diploma in IT Users or into employment.

    Facilities

    The model of delivery will be classroom-based learning. You will have access to our digital learning platforms that will provide you with a range of materials and resources to support your learning whilst on this course. Individual tutorial support is available. Additional learning support is also available if required.

Coronavirus update
