Art and Design students from the Creative Arts faculty at Southwark College had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Network Rail on a major project at Waterloo station. The project focuses on the restoration of the station's iconic Victorian roof and the development of new passenger facilities over the course of three years.

As part of this collaboration, the students were entrusted with the task of designing posters to inform and engage passengers about the renovation project. The selected posters will be prominently displayed at the station throughout the duration of the project, providing the students with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their creativity and contribute to a real-world initiative.

This collaboration with Network Rail has proven to be an invaluable learning experience for the students, allowing them to work closely with a local partner to communicate the station's transformation to the public. The winning design, created by Art and Design student Pablo Orejuela Valencia, will be showcased in a high-profile location at the station, marking a significant achievement for the talented student and highlighting the success of the collaborative effort.

Tom Barry, Commercial Scheme Sponsor at Network Rail, said: "It was wonderful to meet the enthusiastic students from Southwark College for a morning at Waterloo Station. The submissions received were thought provoking and it's wonderful to be able to display the winner's artwork on our station."
