Southwark College hosted its first Higher Education Fair of the new term to showcase the different programmes on offer to help young people and mature students in Southwark plan for their next step.
At the event, representatives from more than 20 universities, including the University of Portsmouth, the University of the Arts London, and the University of Greenwich, presented an outline of choices and shed light on the realities of university life.
They also gave insight into the content of courses areas, outlined possible career paths, and spoke about the UCAS application process and the financial support available to help students make an informed decision.
Annette Cast, Principal at Southwark College, said: "One of our aims is to prepare our students for their next step in education or employment. Bringing university representatives together under one roof allows our students to learn more about higher education and the pathways and opportunities available to help them consider their options and make the right choice for them."
During the event, students also hear about degree apprenticeships and the range of careers they can access through this pathway and the benefits of achieving a qualification while earning a wage and gaining experience.
The careers service at Southwark College offers information, advice, and guidance to help students identify their goals and learn about their options for future career paths.
